Our shops run a comprehensive range of machine tools, including CNC boring mills, a HAAS VF-9 vertical mill, multiple horizontal boring mills (floor-type and table-type), and a full complement of engine lathes. Lathe capacities range from standard work up to 72″ swing x 15′ centers, with a Giddings & Lewis Vertical Turret Lathe (VTL) capable of 72″ diameter parts. We regularly produce and repair drive shafts, fan shafts, stub shafts, mixer shafts, screw conveyor shafts, roller bodies, arbors, couplings, and custom mechanical components to print or reverse-engineered from sample.

Our CNC Cincinnati Gilbert Floor Type boring mill offers a 5″ spindle, 30 HP, with table travel of 119″ x 60″ and a 60″ x 120″ table. Combined with our HAAS VF-9 vertical machining center (84″ x 36″ table), we offer CNC precision on large-format parts that most shops can’t accommodate.

We specialize in drilling and tapping large, heavy castings — regularly handling parts ranging from a few hundred pounds to over 12,000 lbs. Our floor boring mills and radial drills allow us to work on oversized castings or parts without unnecessarily complicating the setups.

Custom shaft manufacturing and repair is one of our core capabilities. We turn, grind, build up worn surfaces, and return shafts to OEM or custom dimensions. We work with all common materials including 4140, 4340, stainless steel, Aluminum and Bronze. Shaft sizes range from small-bore components to 72″ diameter vertical turning applications.

All fabricators at PADNOS Leitelt and IXL are certified to AWS D1.1 structural welding standards for all materials and positions. Services include structural weldments, frame fabrication, automated weld build-up (for rebuilding worn surfaces), and custom one-off or production fabrication. We work in mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and chrome-moly.

We repair and rebuild hydraulic cylinders, press components, and hydraulic systems. Our 200-ton Rodgers Inclined Horizontal Forcing Press handles work pieces up to 114″ long. A 150-ton Dake Vertical Straightening Press and 75-ton Dake Vertical Arbor press round out our press capacity. We also perform hydraulic repairs on-site or at the customer facility.

From gearbox rebuilds and press column replacement to oven roller repair and screw conveyor overhaul, our shops regularly handle industrial equipment repairs that require both machining capability and field service expertise. We work across industries including food processing, packaging, energy, and heavy manufacturing.

• Plate shearing: up to ¾” mild steel (10′ wide) or ½” stainless steel — also up to 3/8″ x 12′ via our Cincinnati square shear. CNC plasma cutting available via Messer Metal Master Evolution (2″ x 8′ x 20′ capacity).
• Plate rolling: ½” mild steel to 16″ diameter, via Bertsch #9 Pinch Type.
• Press brake work: up to ½” x 14′ mild steel, equipped with AUTOGAUGE CNC2000 / Angle Expert software. Also 250-ton and 135-ton mechanical press brakes.
• Tube rolling: up to 2½”
• Angle rolling: up to 3″
• Channel rolling: up to 5″
• Pipe rolling: up to 2″

Two key slotters handle keyways up to 2″ wide x 24″ long (Mitts & Merrill #3A with 24″ indexing turntable) and 1″ x 8 1/2″ (Morisson Model K). Internal slotting up to 2″ is available for large shafts and couplings.

We offer both in-shop and portable line boring services. Automated weld build-up and line-bore equipment allows us to perform on-site repairs to excavator booms, construction equipment, heavy machinery frames, and bores too large or too heavy to transport.

We produce and repair spur gears, worm gears, and custom gear profiles. Recent work includes bronze worm gears, phenolic spur gears, and gear rack repairs for hydro-power and industrial equipment applications.

Our engineering team uses AutoCAD and SolidWorks to design new parts, reverse-engineer from samples, and produce detailed drawings for fabrication. We regularly design and machine one-of-a-kind replacement parts for obsolete or discontinued equipment.

Full-capability sandblast and paint for any job up to high-side trailers. Preparation and protective coating are available as part of a complete repair or fabrication scope.

Our portable services team brings machining capabilities to your site. Equipped with automated weld build-up, line-bore equipment, hydraulic Hy-Torque wrenches, and hydraulic Porta-Power heads, we perform on-site repairs that minimize your downtime. All portable welders are AWS D1.1 certified.

22 overhead cranes with capacities from 1 to 15 tons, combinable to 25 tons, allow us to safely lift and position the large, heavy workpieces our customers regularly bring in.
